It almost seemed reminiscent of IPS glow, but the viewing angles didn't seem good enough to be IPS to me and side by side with my Alienware 34" UW (similar monitor to the one you have), the "blacks" were much darker, just not dark enough for me. Like setting the backlight (direct lit, but no dimming so it is super uniform) to the lowest was still too bright for me in dark, dark scenes (blacks are a dark grey). ![]() The biggest downside (other than the text) for me was that for a VA panel, it has a really high black floor. Price is about right, VA panel, supports 4k120hz, decent HDR (~600nits), solid smart TV features (though I connected my ATV to it). Had one for ~2 weeks (before I returned it for a CX 48"). It has a BGR sub-pixel layout so text looks wonky on it (I couldn't get it to look 'right' even with clear type on). ![]() Probably pretty solid for a monitor for content consumption and gaming IMO.
